Chavva A Smith-Hofstad (ENGLISH)
Chavva Smith received her dance training from the Chicago Academy for the Arts, Joel Hall Dance Center, Alvin Ailey School, Broadway Dance Center, and Jacobs Pillows.
She performed with Techni_ Que Dance Company, Sweet Charity, Jazz Fusion, Michael Jackson, L.L CoolJ, L'Oreal, Geoffrey Beene, Zoot Suit and so much more. After graduating with her BFA she relocated to Los Angeles and started working with Benedicte Skoyen at Santa Monica Dance Studio. She also taught at UCLA in the dance and musical theater department.
Chavva was the dance director at Jessye Norman School of the Arts where she also taught ballet and contemporary before moving to Stavanger.
Chavva is a passionate and technique driven teacher who loves to push her dancers to new limits.
Chavva will be on leave from fall semester 2023.
